Labron James was the First sophomore in Ohio to be known as Mr. Basketball. 

During the season of 2004-2005 LeBron was incredible again. No one in the NBA logged more minutes, and he ranked third in the league in scoring (27.2) and steals (2.2 a game), and sixth in passing (7.2 apg). He net 50 points in a game, being the youngest ever to do that. LeBron posted four double-doubles on the season, and pumped in 40points on five occasions. His success continued as well throughout the following season of 2005-2006. LeBron averaged 31.4 points a game-good for third in the NBA-becoming the youngest ever to top the 30-point plateau. At the '06 All-Star Game, he scored 29 points at the All-Star Game and received the MVP honors.  Cleveland finished second in the NBA Central after 50 victories. When the team was heading downwards, it became almost as a pattern when LeBron was there to give a turnaround.  In March 2004 against the New Jersey Nets, LeBron reached 41 points and 13 assists in a 107-104 victory. Along all the victories, LeBron was voted to receive the Rookie of the Year as well as an invitation to the represent the U.S. on the 2004 Olympic men's basketball team being only 19 years old. In Athen the team did not show up to their fan's expectation, as they only took the bronze. However
LeBron often showed a humble personality with maturity far above his age. When other in his team could complain and be angry for all kind of things, LeBron could be silent, obedient and patient. It was easy then to understand his popularity.   Many people feared that all these mega dollars for the teenager could totally get him out of focus regarding playing basketball. But that was not the case, remarkably enough LeBron just continued his career as he had started it and became even more successful in basketball than ever. He averaged 21 points, six assists and more than five rebounds per game. The Cavs ended the season at 35-47, which was a great improvement compared to the previous year's performance. LeBron was the cause for the Cav´s turnaround. What really made the young LeBron known to the rest of America, was the two following controversies: At his 18th birthday, his mother gave him a Hummer H2 with three television sets inside the car for a value of totally 50.000dollar. The second controversy happened only a month later when he accepted two NBA jerseys to a value of 845 dollar each from a sport store. These two events were so widely discussed, so that even the person, who never had taken any interest in sports, now got to know everything about LeBron, as these two episodes got national headlines
